We are looking for a talented Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join our team!

We are looking for a detail-oriented problem solver to join the team as a Software Engineer focusing on all things geo-data. You will share the responsibility of data quality and fidelity with our engineering, data science, and data quality teams by developing better ways to evaluate, audit, augment, and ingest data about places.

Where You're Located:

Ideally candidates for this role will be based in Cincinnati or Chicago however, we will consider candidates Remote as well.

Your Impact:

• Develop new features, algorithms, and processes to improve our data quality and ingestion bandwidth
• Plan features and implementation for data ingestion and automation projects
• Implement API features to enable solutions in consumer applications
• Communicate with Engineering and Product teams about requirements and opportunities as it relates to new features and data
• Identify, participate and implement initiatives for continuous improvement of data ingestion, quality, and processes
• Manually manipulate data when necessary, while learning and applying these needs to scale future projects
• Reduce latency in updating data

What You’ve Done Before: 

• 5+ years of experience 
• Ruby on Rails development experience is required
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS),  SQL (ideally Postgres) and Elasticsearch is beneficial
• Experience working with geospatial data, big data, or python is a huge plus
• Experience with ETL automation and implementing data pipeline architecture
• Front-end development experience with React 
• A "do what it takes" attitude and a passion for great user experience
• Strong communication skills and experience working with highly technical teams
• Passion for identifying and solving problems
• Comfort in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
• Data Science and machine Learning/AI model development is beneficial but not required
